Whilst the world has been in lockdown, we have been keen to find new ways to sponsor creativity in the community. Particularly amongst young creatives. With that in mind, we were thrilled to commission local talent Ellie Fryer to tackle her largest canvas to date: The entry stairway at The Grove.

She took the reigns from design to creation and created a beautiful piece celebrating some of the best features and sights that the town has to offer. We couldn't be happier with the results and hope that you will agree it has made a huge and brightening difference to our community space.

We look forward to welcoming you back to The Grove soon to admire the mural in person, and to keep up with the many shows and projects we undertake to keep creativity alive in Eastbourne.

Statement Regarding Temporary Closure of the Grove Theatre

Following the Prime Minister’s statement on the 16th March 2020 advising the UK public to avoid unnecessary social contact, including in theatres, we regret to advise you that the Grove Theatre will be closed until further notice. We currently believe this is likely to be the end of May 2020, though we will keep you informed should this situation change.

The health and safety of our patrons and the wider community is always our first priority.

We are currently looking at postponing events that are due to take place here up to and including the end of May and will be announcing a revised programme shortly. There will be a separate announcement tomorrow about tickets that have been sold for these events.

We would like to thank everyone for their messages of support to the theatre at this difficult time.

Any further announcements will be made here and on our social media platforms.
